Brake bleeding nightmare

FIL opted to help do a full brake job on his brothers 07 H3. They replaced rotors, calipers, and pads. It’s been nothing short of a nightmare getting the brakes bled. The rears bled just fine, but the fronts won’t do a damn thing. They’ve tried everything short of taking it to a dealership and forking over a small fortune to help finish the job. We’ve tried following autozones guide to bleeding it, and it mentioned the need of a scanner to do something, sounds important but we don’t have that. Initially, we just went back to front doing a typical bleed process of clicking the ignition over, opening the bleeder and applying half pressure on the brake to trigger the pump and bleed, I could feel the pedal getting resistance and actually forcing my foot up as pressure built but it always went back to being mush shortly after. Today we attempted to use a bleed kit and it worked great on the rears, and not a damn thing would happen to the fronts. What the hell are we doing wrong, please some hummer wizard give us guidance.

Here's a stupid question. Do you have the calipers on the correct side? The bleeder screws need to be at the top of the calipers. Also I usually keep the key in the run position while bleeding brakes. Don't pump the brakes. Crack a bleeder and push the brake down for a few seconds and close the bleeder. Release brake pedal and let rest for 30 seconds. Repeat until no air comes out.

Dealing with the same issue on bleeding the front brakes. I'm curious if Plane225 tried this method and if it worked. I changed brakes, rotors, and calipers on the front and having an impossible time getting the brakes to bleed and wondering it the master cylinder is bad but hoping it's not.

WR3NCHE4D thanks for the tip. I followed this method on the front passenger side tonight and was finally able to get that line bleed. I'll do the driver side tomorrow night.
