Default Blower Motor Malfunction

After starting my truck last night and turning the heat on, I discovered that my blower is not functioning! I started going through the basics - i.e there is power going to all 3 dials, heat is still coming slowly out of the vents, and when I turn the blower to max, I hear a metallic clicking sound coming from the lower passenger kick panel. I haven't had a chance to start tinkering with it yet, but I'm afraid this may be a dealer issue. Has anyone had this happen before? I did a search and noticed G Man did have a similar issue a while back....wondering if anyone has any more info on it since then...

Thanks in advance!

P.S - it was 13 degrees in Wisconsin this morning...I want to fix this ASAP!

2006 H-3 (Out of warranty) Went to turn on heat last night and no blower. Relays, fuses OK. I'll pull the motor and apply direct 12 volts and see if it works. If not, time for a new blower motor. If it does work, I'll assume the switch/resistor is malfunctioning. I'll keep you posted, let me know what you find out.

in a strange turn of events, I got in my truck over the weekend, turned the fan on, and it worked like a charm.

Should probably get to the dealer and have it checked out anyway. My guess is this isn't the last i'll see of this problem.

Get it checked out, like you said, you don't want a problem like this in the dead of winter.

Default Follow- up?

What was the outcome of this story? Did the squirrel cage come loose on the shaft?

i had this problem in my Colorado . the blower wouldn't work unless it was on 4. 1-3 didnt work. i replaced the heater resistor its under the love box on the blower at least in a rado and it fixed my problem. i hope this helps. it was only like 20-30 bucks for the new part.

heres a link to a write up on the issue on a Colorado forum
