Default Is the armrest hinge supposed to swing freely?

When I bought my H3, the front latch for the console armrest was broken. Got it replaced and all is good. But....the back hinge has no resistance at all. It pretty much swings freely, which lets the armrest fall with full force if you lose your grip on it. And that likely makes the latch more prone to getting broken. Is the hinge supposed to be that way or should there be some resistance? Wondering if I might need a new hinge too.

i pay no attention, but some hinges can be bent slightly or hammered. remove it if you want to try.
i often bend the pin in household door hinges to make a tight fit.
