Default Air bag and Tire side wall

Hello, have 2 issues and wondering if anyone has had the same.

1. Randomly when there is a passenger in the front passenger seat, the airbag light will turn off while drigin. This is in normal driving condtions, have not gone off roading yet.
2. 3 of the 5 tires have ripples on the side wall.

Took the vehicle to the dealership and reported the issues, for item 1 they said it works fine (I stated that it does not happen 100% of the time). For item 2 they are telling me it is the "seem" of the tire and not an issue.

I am looking for some feedback to see if anyother H3 ownes has had one of these issues.

post pics of the tires and we can help you. As far as the airbag sensor, I would demand that they change it out. How heavy is the front seat passenger? I think there is a minimun, if you are driving with a small child in the front it will not turn on the airbag but this is for safety.

The air bag sensor in the front pass. seat will activate on anyone 100 pounds or more. So at 110 pounds there is a chance it's confused and the pressure of passenger under certain situations could be turning it off and on. Get someone heavier to ride it in for a little bit and see what happens. Or put 150# weights on the seat and drive around.

The tires sound like they are dimpled. A common site for OEM tires. Are they the goodyears on the base model? If so, you will see that on almost every tire on an H3. They'll be fine. Just not pretty.

110 lbs.
That's usually right around the range that activates the sensor. The owners manual may say what the exact weight is, that it takes to activate the front air bag sensor. If someone is under that weight, then it senses it, and deactivates the airbag, so that the smaller person isn't injured in an accident. It could be that bumps etc. in the road are making the sensor activate/deactivate, due to the weight of the person being right on the "bubble" of the sensors cut off. It's very likely that the problem isn't the sensor, but rather the weight of the passenger.

HummerMike, you are correct base model.
For the airbag light the dealer told me 65 pounds was the weigth the pass sensor should activate. I still think that an adult should have the airbag light activate. Since I know GM folks read all forums I hope they can at least look into my complaints.

65 pounds is not correct. 100 pounds is the point at which the pass. side airbag will be activated. Unless they changed it on the newer models.

I agree that 65 lbs. in not correct. It's usually around 100 lbs. like HM said.
