Default Fender Flares Question

I bought new rims/tires for my H3 a couple years ago. Unfortunately I bought the wrong offset and the tires stick out a couple inches. Although, it is a common thing to see vehicles like that here in Maine, it is illegal. I have gotten 1 warning, and tonight I got a ticket for $137 and he the cop threatened to make me have it towed home. Now I am trying to decide whether to try and get fender flares, or new rims. Suggestions for fender flares with good coverage, that look good?

There is really only 2 choices for flares that are made specifically for a H3.

The Bushwacker flares
Bushwacker 150900-02 OE Style Fender Flares 05-10 Hummer H3 Set : Amazon.com : Automotive Bushwacker 150900-02 OE Style Fender Flares 05-10 Hummer H3 Set : Amazon.com : Automotive

Or the E&G Classic flares
Hummer Parts and Accessories: E&G Classics H3 Fender Flares Factory Black W/ Splash Guards ** FREE SHIPPING **

GM offered OEM flares but they are impossible to find at a reasonable price and they look just like the other 2 above

I went with the E&G Classics. My Duratrac 305-70x16's stuck out from the wheel wells and these flares flushed them out perfectly. (Just got my 3 'detailed' so I went overboard on the pics)

Do the E&G front mud guards sit as far back as the GM models? I have NFab steps that extend too far forward for the GM mudguards and I'm trying to find something I can use.

They're almost identical in size to the GM mudflaps, but quite a bit shorter then the GM fender flare mudflaps used on the European H3's.
