Question 8k miles on tires and road noise like a swamper....

Ok. So here's an interesting one for you guys.

2007 H3 62k miles. Super well maintained. ..lol. im picky.
Tires (AT) Hankook dynapro atm 265 75 16 ..... 8k miles...
Tire pressure standard.

Noticed this starting this winter.

Start out at standstill up to 30 mph and loud road noise. I've already rotated the tires and replaced one this week due to damage from winter.
Tires have approximately 8k miles.
Can chop wheel back and forth and noise is constant. Driving straight the H3 is loud.
Let the steering wheel go and it slightly drifts to right. The steering feels heavy and unsure. Go around corner or bend same sound.
I've looked it over....
had wheels off and tested for loose bearings. I'm thinking maybe.
Also checked front diff for fluid level. OK.
checked steering rack and mount. OK.
CV. OK.
Tie rods tight.
Ball joint seem ok visually.

Default road noise? jfwiw

i bought a 98 jeep sport last year on an impulse,,cheap!. it had BIG mud tires and i thought that was the cause of the deafening unbearable road noise. got a set of right size used, nice street tires figuring i could now drive it without ear plugs. it is SLIGHTLY quieter!!
probably has nothing to do with yours but i toss it in.
im not a jeep guy but a guy who is says it may be bearings. i never had noisy bearings like road noise. this jp has been around and will probably have a new owner soon!

Update: 04/19/20

So, today stopped by the local shop and had the tech ride along.
* he could hear the noise too
* he is wondering if alignment is off
* hub / bearing is failing
* brake is dragging
He did not put in the shop just road with to listen.

I guess i'm going to have to tear down Happy's front end and start doing a whole lot more investigating.

check the tires for Cupping/Scalloping, this is when all the tread blocks on one shoulder develop a wear pattern in which one block edge is higher than the other, leaving a set of raised edges on the leading or trailing edge of each block. Running your fingers lightly along the tread blocks produces an unmistakable “flutter” as you brush over the raised edges. The earliest sign of this kind of wear is often an unpleasant change in the noise the tire produces – the high hum of the “tire song” often changes to a loud growl as the edges strike pavement. This is generally caused by incorrect camber or weak shocks.
