2007 Hummer H3 steering wheel shaking bad

I have a 2007 hummer h3 about 167,000 miles. When I'm idle the steering wheel shakes really bad, once I start moving it stops. It only does it when I'm idle. The check engine light pops on and off sporadically. No one seems to know what it is. I've replaced all coils and spark plugs. Please help!! 😢

Search the forums for rough idle, it's been discussed a ton of times

When was the last time you cleaned your Throttle Body and MAF?

Use the search feature here and take a look at this:
Acts like it wants to stall/rough idle -No CEL -What To Do:

I've never had it cleaned since I've had it.

Took mine to the dealer, same thing happens, they told me it was the motor mounts. I didn't feel like paying what they wanted because it doesn't bother me that much. Just think of it as a massaging steering wheel.

Apparently there is a knowledge vacuum out there on what maintenance is for modern fuel injected distributorless electronic ignition vehicles????

It ain't rocket science, You have to clean the Throttle Body and MAF appx. (and look at the air filter to see if it needs attention) every 30K miles depending upon driving conditions. That is the current day equivalent of a "tune up". If you have not been doing that and/or use cheap no brand gas, then you are going to have more work to be done.

If you do everything on the list I linked to, in the order laid out, you will resolve the issue .... and anybody can do it without ever going to a dealership. FYI dealerships are for warranty work ONLY, they charge ridiculous repair rates. Do not assume they employ the most competent techs to do work on you vehicle.

Here is the link again. Acts like it wants to stall/rough idle -No CEL -What To Do:
