Default 2007 H3 Gear shift lights not working

Our 2007 H3 gear shift light will not illuminate. The truck is locked in park and will not come out of park.

additionally, the door locks have started locking and unlocking themselves when the car is turned on.

Any my ideas as to what is wrong?

Check all of your door switches. One or more of them may be faulty.

BCM? Broken wire? Bad fuse? Brake switch? Transmission range switch? I would start by checking the fuses with a test light to make sure there is power going to the fuses. Then check those door switches. I have a feeling there is broken connection somewhere. Maybe even check your relays. Hope this helps.

Does it have a sunroof? If so, has the passenger floor ever been wet?

You still using the POS OEM Battery Terminal Connectors?

yes and yes. We had an awful leak and finally fixed the drain tubes. Still using the terminal connectors. What is the connection between these 2 and the door lock gremlin?

When your sunroof leaks, it gets the BCM wet (95% of the time). The BCM controls everything you described as your problems. When the BCM gets wet, the electrical Gremlins have an open door.

A friend of mine had very similar problems to what you describe (add in wipers turning on and off by themselves), it was a wet BCM as it all started after a couple days rain when the sunroof drains were plugged and flooded the passenger floor.

The Battery Terminal Connectors are a known problem, the all fail eventually, and cause other electrical Gremlins.
