I have been looking for an air intake kit for my new H3, and I understand (as per K&N) that the 2007's are different. Anyone have the chance to compare them side by side yet? I guess I could find an '06 on a lot and take a looksie for myself! I would actually like one without an oiled filter as I have occasionally heard complaints of oil fouled MAF sensors. I have has K&N's in my last 5 or 6 cars with no problems... but...
I like the look of the Volant, it looks to be the best quality and most thought out!

Volant has given people problems with missing hardware to install it and it vibrates[&:]

 

I can't imagine there being a difference, unless they re-configured the layout under the hood. So, perhaps the cold air tube could be shorter, or bent a little more... perhaps. But, if not, I can't see why it would need a different kit.

 

I had the Volant installed on my H2 over a year and a half ago and have had NO PROBLEMS!! I LOVE IT!!

Dennis is this an H3 specific problem??

 

I'm not sure..but I think the problems I've heard of with Volant were in fact H3 only..

 

Anyone with an '06 care to post an underhood picture to save me a trip to a dealership? I guess with the engine displacement changing, MAYBE they changed the volume of the airbox (or silencer) and/or moved the location of some sensors. I still haven't found anyone listing one for a 2007, so maybe it's true.

 

 

Thanks for the pictures... it looks like it would work to me. I wonder if any of the manufacturers have even looked at a 2007. I saw a guy selling a 05-06 kit on Craigslist because he said it wouldn't fit his 2007. I found an 06 at a lot right by me, so hopefully it still has the stock airbox on it and I can park mine next to it and check for myself. I will post when after I have taken a look.

 

from what I have read from otehr places, the 06 aftermarket add ons will fit with no modification.
