Default Help! Petrol?

Hi there,

Im new to this forum. I'm looking to find out some information before I go ahead and buy a H" Hummer SUT. Now I know and have heard that the running costs are expensive etc but I want to know how expensive it'll be to run. Im from Ireland and will be driving it here

Cople of key questions:
i) Approximately how much to fill the tank in petrol? And does it fill it all the way to the top? I've heard it cuts off a the 3/4 mark (100 litres)

ii) How many miles per gallon do you get, I've heard everything from 6 - 22mpg. Are the way mpg's are measured over here in Ireland different?

iii) Do you get 300 - 330 miles on the tank of petrol?

iv) I currently have an Audi TT and costs about €100 to fill up. For some reason I have it in my head that I only get 220 miles on it? Am I wrong cos it thats the case, the Hummer looks better, but there is no way this can be can it?

v) How hard are they to drive in comparison to a big jeep (ie chev tahoe)

Thats all the questions I have for now. Really appreciate any useful response I get. Thanks

I drive mine daily.
your mpg will vary depending on how you drive, and the condition of the truck.

If you drive it like a sports car you probably will get 6-8mpg.
if you set your cruise controll at 60mph on the highway you'll probably get about 16-18.

I get a steady 12 mpg hi-way and in town! I drive mine daily, and it doesn't seem to matter if it is with the a/c on or the windows down. I average 330 miles on an approximate 25 gallon tank..i think..and with gas where I live @ $3.69 gal it costs me approximately $100 give or take to fill it up. I run mine on fumes and fill it till it wont take any more and it goes the entire way to FULL..doesn't cut off! I am a 5'8 1/2 female and went from a Dodge Durango to my SUT and I LUV IT! I have NO problems maneuvering it into parking places, parallel parking etc. I must say...I do get lots of looks tho!...Hope this helps and enjoy!
