Default Vents blowing hot on drivers side only

On my 2004 H2, ocassionally the vents on the drivers side start blowing hot air. The passenger vents continue to work correctly blowing coolair. I try changing the temperature controls on the drivers side but this has no affect. The only way to get the climate control functioning correctly is by switching off the climate control for about 10 minutes. Any ideas what is causing this.

I have a similar problem. Only, instead of blowing hot air, my driver side heat doesn't seem to work. if I turn the truck off and let it sit for a minute-or 5- then the heat works upon start up. Let me know if you find anything out.

There is a control box for the climate control. More than likely, it's bad. I've heard of the problem before. If you are still under warranty, the dealer should replace it for ya.

Hi H2_UK,

I had the Simular Problem, the Actuators are bad, they control the air temp for each side of the A/C Unit,
The (Dealer, Coral Hummer) replaced the drivers side and it worked for about 2 days and then the Passengers went out, so they replaced the other one and reset the Coumputer that controls them..........

It works fine now.......

I love it when my vent temp Gauge reads 115degs , then you start it up and its allready cooling down.....cools quicker than any truck I ever had before........

Before I had it fixed, I had to turn off the motor (Engine) and turn it back on in Nutural while driving down the road........1 HOT Air and 1 COLD Air don't cut it...................

Have A Great day............. RickLF

Bugger !!! ours has just started to do this as well, seeing here Down Under ours are converted to right hookers [not as in ho !! gentlemen and ladies if any are watching]..so ours is exact same US drivers side is boiling ..the other just cool [not cold ] air ..both set at 15C to try and get cool air.....even tho ext temp was 12C..but cabin was getting too hot..thats one cracker of a heater..!!! ours is an 06 with only 7500kms ..just unfortunate that the importer converter is 2.5 hr drive away..I'll post on their fix....ALSO I see here some talk of their H2 air as being really good..I'd have to say I think its only adequate..in the conversion process we found that one of the high pressure lines was missing an O ring causing the gas to escape..but once it was 'right' it was only just cuttin thru..altho thermometer reading from probe [aircon guy's test] in centre vents was showing air temp at 5 C [which he thought was OK..]......in the same weather conditions our X5 will refridgerate you if thats whats req'd [usually have set at 22.5..thats plenty cold]..is there perhaps more my/our system is capable of..or is it like some Euro others ignore the readout and have temp set to 18 or less until she gets cold.!!..

Is there a way to reset the controller yourself or is this something the dealer has to do?
