Suggestions on engine options
I have an '08 H2 with the 6.2 and want to give it more power. Eventually I want to put a supercharger on it, but would it be better to rebuild the engine or put a new LSX376 crate motor in it? What are the pro's/con's? I also imagine I'll need to beef up the transmission as well, any suggestions on that as well?

that's a hard one to answer, a lot of personal preference involved,
what do you want out of the truck and how much do you want to spend?
Will you do it yourself or have a shop do the work?
I have an 08 and have recently upgraded the engine, done all the work myself and really enjoy the truck now.
I went with a cam, converter, headers and full exhaust with tuning next are 4.56 gears
I've been toying with the idea of a supercharger but I think if I do it it'll be a centrifugal charger with an intercooler as I live in a hot climate (heat kills power).
I'm pushing the limits of the trans now with around 510HP and 460TQ, the 6L80 is rated at around 440TQ in and 664TQ out.
You rally need to consider how you want the truck to drive when deciding what upgrades you want
There are a lot of choices when it comes to the LSX376 which gets you back to how much you want to spend,

Blower, cam, headers and you'll be in love with your truck all over again.

I'm not worried about budget per se. I won't be doing any of the work myself. My previous vehicle was a charger scat pack. I loved the effortless acceleration. I know the H2 is not even close, but I just want decent acceleration and for it not to feel like a pig. My wife drives a suburban and its ok, but needs more pep imho. The primary use will be for me to use to drive around, minimal towing, and prob not much offroading. Here's a background on why I bought the H2:
My wife was tired of me having to use her suburban to haul the kids and I wouldn't let her drive my charger very much if at all. She gave me a requirement that my next car had to be able to hold the whole family. I looked around and wanted something with character. Most SUV's with character were way out of my price range, I had always wanted an H2 and I know they have a ton of character. The '08/'09s have low inventory and I think will be collectors items in a few years. It took me several months to find my H2, I wanted a rare color and finding a blue/orange 08/09 <30k was pretty hard. I've had more compliments on my H2 than my charger or my ram 2500 before it. I want to keep this H2 forever and give it my sons. They all love it and want to ride in it all the time.
With that said, I just want it to feel good when I'm driving, have good get up, and also have a ton of character under the hood as well as outside. I probably won't do everything at once, but I figured it would be about 20-25k for a new engine and sc. I also was thinking I would need to update the transmission and beef it up.
To answer the OP question, I was thinking of the LSX376-B8

Put a Maggie on it and be done. I've spent hours looking at pro's and con's of all of this. The LSX engine is going to give you power at too high of a rpm making it worthless down low which is where you want it. You'll also have to have different electronics to run it. Not worth it IMHO.

I wouldn't even touch the engine unless it has issues. They'll run a long, long time. A PD blower will give you power right off idle which is where you want it. You could change gears but I'd wait and see how much the blower wakes it up.
A good custom tune might do you wonders too. My 6.0 is like a new animal after a new tune. It pulls strong and still gives me just under 14 mpg.

Milepic dust added a magi and his complaint was the delay which is built into the system, I think he said it comes in around 2500rpms. Then there is the IAT's that cut all the power without an intercooler

I think mulepic has some issues with his set up on top of his altitude issues. A positive displacement blower offers immediate boost. I had one on an Avalanche and it was a rocket. My tuner put a turbo on his and his is a beast but I don't care for the popin and cracklin that a turbo offers.
As for the tune, my MPG was terrible before the custom tune. Factory timing is almost nill, so when you throw timing at them, they light up. I want to say mine had maybe 2 degree's total advance from factory and its now in the +24 to 26 degree range. I run premium fuel but still have zero knock. My truck is an 05 so your's is likely different but a good tune will do wonders. You might even have the cylinder delete stuff which you could also get rid of with a cam if you wanted to do so.
