Before you replace the brakes take a good look at them. I was at almost 90k and kept checking them and still had good pad and no groves at all in the rotors. I also wheeled the truck a lot but I am easy on brakes.

As far as an H2 goes if it has really been taken care of 100k plus mile truck would not scare me. I know any truck with that many miles anything can happen but the H2 is the best built vehicle I have ever owned. I might try to go with an 06 or 07 if your budget allows but there are plenty of them out there. They are better trucks than the 03-05.

I bought my 03 H2 in 2008 with 72k just when the gas price sky rocketed to nearly $4.00 a gallon and I found it at a used dealership. Nbody was interested and lowered his price to $13,900...so i picked it up and so far the only major thing i had to replaced was the front wheel bearings (right side) cost was $120 and i did all the labor. Now it's almost at a 100k and still running like a champ.

hey all, just wanted to give an update on what I had done.

I basically just got the entire 100,000 mile tune up as they called it. Changed all fluids (transmission, brake, steering, wheel axles). Also had all spark plugs and wiring replaced as they were basically caked on from being stock so long. There were a few other minor things.

The only 'big' part that was replaced was the idle arm as they said it was giving alot of play in the steering, making it loser etc. Said it was bending before it would start turning everything.

Engine light on - this was caused by a bad solenoid in the gas tank system that removes the fumes I guess. They also replaced this.

All in all I feel good about getting tune up. It was the 2nd place I took it to. They also suggested the H2 was at the point where I either needed to sell it or get it tuned up so it's reliable for many more years.

Cya,
Dan

Dan, Sounds like the H2 is ready to roll. Any chance you could post on what the cost was for all of this just so members and future buyers have a bench mark to go off of.
Thanks!

I got my 05 H2 last year this time of yr. So far I've replaced the hub bearings, front brakes and sensor. When I test drove it made a horrible grinding noise and just thought it was the way AWD rode. Well after fixing the mentioned issues this thing rides like a champ. I need to do the 100,000 maintaince but no way in hell it's going to cost that much in parts. As far as labor, well that will total out to $0.00. I'll do it at the fire station while on shift.
