Rear door locks sporadic

I can't seem to find an answer on threads. I have an 03 H2 in very good condition but the rear door locks won't unlock with the remote or the button on the door. I have found that they do work sometimes on the unlock button on the door if the motor is running if I hit the button several times. The rear doors and the hatch are all involved. They all either work together or don't. Seems it can't be a fuse and since it involves the door button it isn't the remotes. Any ideas?

Sounds like a bad ground affecting the harness feeding the rear doors and hatch of the rig. Check around the undercarriage, engine compartment, and body for any loose or corroded grounds.

Craig, I have the same problem. I can not say this will or wont fix the problem as I havent fixed mine yet, but there was another member on here that had a similar problem and posted that the fix for him was new door lock actuators....
Supposedly the motors went bad.
Given, thinking about what LoJac stated... it could be something around that.... I mean if you consider that the other guy might have fixed his ground or connection by putting the new motors in (and it might not have actually been the motors)

Keep us posted. I plan to tackle the Hummer again when I get moved into the new house.

Ground makes sense as they work more often when motor running so more juice going through. I thought maybe a low battery but I have a Durramax conversion with two batteries and there is no difference when charger on them. I will let you know what I find. I will wait a week or so because it is below zero in Ohio right now. Garage is warm but not that warm. Thanks

What were the findings of your door/ hatch not locking all the time...i'm having the same thing on my 2003 H2 - I first thought it was the actuator on the rear hatch, but now have seen the rear doors not locking (they will unlock), and just today the lock on the key remote locked everything on a whim. Advice welcomed...!

So when i'm asked here if my car doors & rear hatch locks, I now say sometimes. Sometimes they lock & sometimes I can't hear anything in the way of an attempted click. Hoping this can be a simple fix....I pulled the fuse box cover off just to take a peek and I notice that not all of the fuse slots are filled...weird? https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.hum...af39a9594c.jpg

That is because that is not a fuse block. That is the mid bussed electrical center. You can connect up a trailer brake harness there and a couple of other factory options. Main fuse box is under the hood. There is a second fuse box behind the left dash panel.

Thanks for that...much to learn here...I'm 2 days into ownership of an 03' H2.

This familiar to anyone with these door/hatch electrical issues?

And today when I started up...no dashboard electrical activity at all...
