Default Buying a Hummer

Ok i'm getting rid of my 03 dodge ram and i'm thinking about getting a h3 with the inline 5. Looking at a 2006 or newer model. What problems do i need to be aware of? How's the towing ability? How's the gas mileage? How's the horse power? How's the offroading? Don't want the alpha i'm trying to downgrade. Thanks in advance for answering all these questions.

I would try to get a later model with the 3.7L motor. I have driven the 3.5 and they aren't bad but if you put bigger tires on them they run out of power pretty quickly. Also make sure any 06 you look at has had the head issue taken care of.

I would definitly agree with the above. try and go for an 07-08 , not priced that much higher than the 06.

Thanks all for the replies. I'll keep an eye out for 2007 or newer h3's with the 3.7 liter engine. Now how's the off road capability of these behemoths? How's the mileage and fuel consumption?

offroading is really good, depending if your going through mudd or rock crawling. Maybe you should look into the H3T's. I get about 17mpg and I do about 75% city driving. I have 06 inline 5, good luck

I just bought mine last week and couldnt be happier. I would advise getting an 07 or later. Ive heard the 06 had some kinks in the engine that needed to be worked out. I strongly reccomend one though. The only issue I have is that it is slow merging on the highway. The gas milage is the same as other midsize suvs. Personally I get around 17 city, 15 highway. Havent went off roading yet but I will eventually.
