Exclamation Passenger door won't unlock

I have a 2003 Hummer that the front passenger door will not unlock even with force. I think something is off track since someone tried breaking in and pooped the outside key lock out of the door handle. Since then, the window will automatically lock the door when rolled down and it will not unlock until the window is rolled back up. However; suddenly, it is just jammed. It won't budge with the remote, buttons or manually and I cannot find anything on how to fix the issue. I'd rather not pay an arm and a leg at a shop unless I absolutely have too. I'd rather fix it on my own. Any tips on how to do this? Thanks!

I'd suggest you start by removing the door panel (carefully so you do not break anything on the panel) and taking a look inside the door and see what is off or bent. It sounds like the lock rod is just bent up.

And to answer this ahead of time..... Search on here and Google. Plenty of pics etc on removing a door panel on one of these.

Thank you. Yes, I've watched videos on how to remove the door panel but it also said in one video that you have to completely remove the glass to replace the door handle which the outside handle dies need since the lock was popped out but I was hoping that's not the case but if so, I hope it's simpler to fix the inside lock than the handkh itself.

The handle can be replaced without totally removing the glass from the door but it still has to be totally taken loose from the tracks and moved to the side inside the door.

One track for the glass has to be moved out of the way. I replaced all my door buckets with billet buckets and new handles without removing the glass.

Door panels just go extremely slow. Even with as OCD and cautious as I was I still broke a plastic weld on one of my panels. I just two part epoxied it from the rear and it's better than factory.
