im looking for something with less than 60k on it so thats why its harder to find, plus im trying to buy one from southern state, i live in pennsylvania and everything up here is pure rust (like my tahoe), 20k barely gets me one if i can find one, like i said as far as gas mileage my tahoe at best got 11.5-12, lately im at 10.6 and im hearing from a few h2 owners at work thats right what there range is, the one i drove reminded me alot of my tahoe (99 2 door) as far and handeling etc. the "wheat" interior seems standard on most ive looked at, trying to find either black or silver exterior...the search continues

so the new engine vs the old isn't much of a difference? im more concerned about the engine.

i also dislike the newer interior. the older one is nicer

Hands down the '08/'09's are the best H2's out there. If your budget is in the 20k's, stick with the '05-'07's with 325bhp/365bt, although, they do share the 4l65E 4-speed with the '03-'04's.

I still can't decide if it is worth going for a 2008
In Canada i'm seeing 2005-07 for $20-33,000 (100,000km+)
and 08/09 for $33-80,000 (100,000km+)

Suggestions?

Is the newer engine really worth it?
Yes, the '08/'09's are worth the extra money if you can afford it. My '08 is a totally different truck than my '05 in all aspects except exterior appearence.

What? ... an iron-block 6.0 LQ4 weighs more than a 6.2 L92 aluminum-block ... guess again!

Not much difference between 393 bhp/415 btq & 325 bhp/365 btq .... ?

So then, I guess there is not much difference between 0-60 in 7.1 seconds and 0-60 in 9.5 seconds ... ?

As far as the interior, wait until the '07 and earlier seats start cracking and the "outer coating" of the leather starts to seperate. In my opinion, the newer interior is much more up to date than the older interior, but that is just a preference thing.

Or you can just supercharge it, upgrade the trans, radiator, exhaust like I did and blow the doors off of any 6.2L out there.
problem is you will never have that interior trim unless you own an upholstery shop or are not concered with the cost of upgrading.

I just bought an 07 for 24 k with 90k miles. It was about 10k cheaper than anything I could find with low miles. I plan to use the difference to rebuild the motor, tranny and add a supercharger. When buying a Hummer it is hard to tell what its been through for certain they are kind of bullet proof. I will have more what I want with 0 miles on the powertrain this way. The alternative was buy the other one with low miles still get the supercharger and wonder if it would last. I may still have "U" Joints and little stuff to deal with but the powertrain is what is important.

I think the interior of the 08 is for chicks. LOL

08-09,6.2 hummer is 214lbs.heavier than 05-07 ,6.0 hummer, and is 1.2 seconds quicker on 0-60 time, also gets closer to 10 mpg. Compared to 11.5-12, costs about double, and looks exactly the same from exterior, besides the silver bumpers and 20" street tires,
