Hummer H2 For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.

Just finished installing new stainless headers

Hate to bring this thread back to life, but I'm curious how the headers are lasting on your truck? I already did the bolts on mine, but one of the manifolds is cracked now, so I have been looking at the OBX headers as a nice upgrade/fix for the leaky manifolds.

Thanks,

They're holding up well. I haven't had any issues with them so far.

Here is my experience, my Hummer has 80K on it and I will be replacing the bolts very soon. No problems so far, but that is what I want to avoid. I have a Suburban 2500 with the same LQ4 motor. By 100K nearly all the bolts had snappped off and the manifolds had warped so much they could not be milled flat. At $300 per side for manifolds and $400 (which was CHEAP) for the labor to remove the old manifolds, remove the 4-5 broken studs and install the new manifolds. I got a deal. One thing I would recommend is going with a set of LS1 ARP stainless header studs / nuts (p/n 434-1301). The factory GM bolts SUCK, and they will just start snapping off again.

It has an EGR, exhaust gas recirculation. On startup, the EGR diverts exhaust into the head to bring up the operating temp quicker on the engine.
The obx will fit on H2's through 2006 models. There isn't an EGR tube coming off the exhaust manifolds on the 03 to 06 models.

The OBX headers looked like they were put together pretty well. The welds were nice and there wasn't any splattering or trash inside the runners. The flanges were thick and everything bolted right up without any alignment issues.
Same with mine, little more rumble to it but not much. I went with the jba ceramic coated stainless headers for the heat issues I was having. but was sick of replacing the stock pos manifold.

I am also looking at the JBA headers. Any additional thoughts or installation notes with the JBA other than previously discussed?
