Default Hummer H2 cold air intake/ filter options

I have a 2005 Hummer H2 SUT. I have been looking for a new air filter and wanted something more permanent than a paper filter. Found these two cold air intake on Amazon and wondered if anyone had any experience or opinion on these. Thanks!

Typically the filters on those cheap kits are complete junk. You'd be better off spending some money on a better setup.

I have a Volant box paired with an AirDoc tube:

As mentioned above, just get a direct replacement aftermarket filter (K&N or something similar). It's reusable, will give you better flow, but without the downsides of a cheap intake system.

Lojac is right, those cheap Chinese knock off kits are junk. Follow his advise. Get a good one.

I put just the airdoc pipe in mine, yet to replace the filter, but more than happy with the pipe. See some of my other threads on here for sound clip and pics...

Let me know how the AFE filter works. I like K&N but don't have $400 to drop on one right now. Any issues with those sucking hot air from the engine bay?

Why would anyone change the setup even a bit? The truck is built with cold air intake. The filters made by the various makers are high flow and perfect for the application. I use K&N on EVERYTHING ELSE I DRIVE OR HAVE DRIVEN, including oil, cabin and air filters. But, the H2 i take contains an air reservoir designed for the specific truck. Stick to the "paper" filters that only cost $40 every few year. I change it every year because they have gotten so cheap, but they can last a super long time.
