My 2004 hummer h2 has a starting problem. I can turn the engine sometimes it starts. I am thinking its fuel related. Any ideas what it could. I did have a check engine light for evap issue but not sure if that's related?

 

2004 hummer should be similar?

 

No the filter is in the tank, 2003 is the only year with it on the outside of the tank.

I have a 2003 and yes it is in front of the tank approx under driver seat if I recall. Harbor Freight has special tool to disconnect but you can also manually squeeze the tabs to release the two lines. Install is just push on snap. I zip tie the filter into its bracket for easy removal next time.

It is part of the fuel pump, inside the fuel tank....

2003 was the only year with an actual external replaceable fuel filter.

 

That question was answered repeatedly over the previous page and a half.

 

My 2006 hummer it only has screen on the bottom of the pump that filters the gas before it goes into it. ..
there is no other filter inside the gas tank.
