H2 with Ranco lift oil pan removal

I have a 2004 H2 with Rancho 4" lift. I need to replace the oil pan gasket, I have no problem clearing the front diff because of the lift. But the Rancho sub frame assembly gets in the way by about 1/2 an inch. This is a welded item and does not have a bolt on cross member. Has anyone ever done one of these as I cannot see how it can be done without complete disassembly. Already taken all the bolts out of the oil pan so now stuck in my garage. Help

MOVED, no tech questions in the New Member Section. All H2 questions go in the ........................................ yep........................................ H2 Section.

If the pan can drop, it does not need to be removed to replace the gasket. Of course that is a matter of degree. You still need enough space to remove the old and place the new.

OK thanks,But I thought the pick up tube would prevent sliding a new gasket in?

If the pan drops about 1/2" plus, you can unbolt the pickup tube from the oil pump, disconnect, then re-bolt it to torque. Just did that when I did a cam swap on my 09 H3 Alpha and needed to replace the chain, removed the oil pump, then put it back with the pan about 3/4" lower than the block. Not too difficult. There are vids on how to replace oil pumps on LS motors with the engine in the truck, oil pan loose.

Good luck.
