Default H2 Mirrors

Hello everyone,
I've got a 2004 H2 here with the H2 chrome logo heated auto folding and Auto Dimming mirrors on this truck and broke the glass and need to replace it. The dealer couldn't find much accept replacing the hole thing with the newer style mirrors. I'd like to stick with what I have if I can.
Now I've tried to search and can't find the answers so I'm asking all of you if anyone knows to help me.
Do all the h2's come with auto dimming driver's side mirrors?
If that is true, can I plug and play an 06-07 mirror or even an 08-09?

TIA!

You have the newer 06-09 style mirrors. and yes 06-09 will all match yours.

My passenger is an 06-07 style and my driver is an 08-09 the only difference is that the 08-09 has a symbol for heated mirrors, which all were heated but only the 08-09 had the symbol. All of the newer (and older?) style mirrors will have auto dimming, heat, and electronic folding functions.

EDIT: I believe the hookups for the 03-05 were different than the 06-09 ( I can't remember) but your 04 has already been updated to the newer style likely due to fold function of the original mirrors failing so it should be a pretty straight forward installation in adding another 06-09.

If that picture is yours than it has already been replaced with the newer style mirrors. That is the newer style. The earlier style mirrors which would have come on a 2004 do not have the inset chrome strip with the H2 logo.

Yeah I found them on PartsGeek, and the 2004 is the only model year with a different part number. Of course all of them are out of stock.
2003, 2004, 2005, - 18595-04048104
2006 - 18680-04048104
2007 - 19159-04048104

This is what has me confused.

See if an 09 is available, small but unnoticeable changes were made, I think black plastic is slightly different on 08-09 (it wears in quickly and you can't notice unless your looking at with concours level of details). Try to buy the 09 version, be forewarned that iirc the mirrors brand new at one point were nearly $700 a piece, I think they may have came down to the $400 range at some point but don't expect it to be a $150 part.

I typically use GMpartsdirect

EDIT, Read below

Alright I just did some part number research and searched GMpartsdirect for part numbers for 03, 04, 06, 07, 08, and 09 Trucks

03-07 all show the same part number which should be the correct part number for you, 08-09 show a slightly different part number (possible due to the heating element pictograph my mirror has).

Go into GMpartsdirect put your truck info into the system then in the search bar type in "mirrors"

Everything should be there, though the 03-07 seem to be $10 more expensive ($422 total cost of new mirror no matter what side)

Do your own research to confirm me but if 03-07 all have the same part number and the description for 03 and 04 say that it is an updated part I would bet that this is the new design and should safely match your mirror.

Yes I looked there. But those are textured backed mirrors online. They basically say that to make them match buy the other one. For now the dealer has said they have figured it all out for me. So we shall see what becomes of it.

Thanks to all that have replied!

I saw that but it uses the same part numbers for 06-07 which left factory with new style mirrors anyhow - however it does not have that description for 06-07 which means that 03-07 are all the new style mirrors. Textured just means its not the OE 03-05 style chrome covered mirrors which would require you to replace both sides if you broke an OE03-05 style. Regardless I'm glad your dealer was able to confirm the correct parts for you.

Make sure when you get your new mirror and it still has its part warranty that it doesn't "shake" at highway speeds, thats why I had to have my drivers side replaced.
