h2 on 46" Tires
We're about half way done with this project. It's my 2005 h2 with a sas dana 60 driverside drop. The cradle is about to be welded in which will also hold the np 205 transfer case. Gonna run these 46" Goodyear MVT on 20" wheels...

Why?
So I've had a couple of forum members ask me why I started this project.. They wanted to know if it was because I wanted to lift the hummer to the sky or if it was a project that just got out of hand. The truth is that one night I was riding down the road and I hit a wild boar. It ripped the whole right front wheel and tire off of my h2. The only thing holding it underneath my truck was the brake line. It was then that I realized just how pathetic and weak the tie rods are on these h2s. Furthermore the a arm and all of the components on the IFS just snapped. So I located an old driverside drop ford dana 60 and proceeded with the dream of "toughening" up my h2. Then it hit me... While I'm adding a straight axle I may as well add a few feet of lift, some coil over shocks, 46s and a 4 linked suspension complete with a cradled np 205 divorced transfer case. I mean afterall why not? Also in the plans is a 6.5 liter diesel motor as the 6.0 gas motor will not only hate life but will get an estimated 4 mpg. Not that this is about gas mileage but just saying... Here are some pics from a few weeks ago:

Yes I realize this is a passenger side np 205.. You will see why I chose this later...

Did you chase that damn boar down just so you could hit it to get this project started??!!
Seems a little toooo convienient that you had a solid axle, set of 46" tires with wheels etc.!!
I'm no detective, but it seems like this may have been in the works and the boar came along at just the right time.
Thanks for posting up though, looking forward to seeing this to completion.
BTW--you may want to get that diesel put in BEFORE you finalize the lift and tires or you're gonna need a crane to make it happen!
