Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
Has anyone been able to move the 2nd row seat in their H2? These would be a great family suv, if the 2nd row was pushed back a few inches. Even if i lost the "3rd row seat".
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I grew up with my hummer. Went on many road trips in the 2nd row and never once felt cramped. And I have always been tall. I think you would have some difficulty as the floor raises up right behind the seats to accommodate the axle underneath. It doesnt seem that there is any room at all. I could see removing the seats all together and having someone fabricate the a something that uses 3rd row seats moved forward. Though that might be more expensive than its worth.
Gavin thank you.
My Wife has a Toyota Sienna and the seat can slide back. This is nice because the kids have room to walk in front on the 2nd row. Not the case with the H2. Plus if you see the photo, their shoe is touching the back of the front seat.
I thought about taking out the 2nd row completely, and putting in the full bench seat in the 3rd row.
The supports of the rear bench seat are contoured to the vehicle and are not mounted to a flat surface like the front seats. There would not be an easy way to move the rear seats back without reengineering the supports. I think you would have to do some serious welding and engineering.
This is a photo of the rear seats from the 03-07 series... it is actually two parts. You can see that the supports are angled up since the rear deck is higher than the passenger compartment. There are factory mount points through out the support framing.
