Fuel line issue when replacing sending unit
So was changing sending unit today thing was rusted to ****. The fittings on the top of the pump were rusted so bad they cracked off into the hose fittings so they were garbage. Dealer was closed and nothing local with factory parts so a local auto store recommended standard fuel injection rubber lines and clamps. Will this hold and be strong enough? I know the fatter line is for the evap and shouldn't be an issue as not a lot of pressure runs in it. But the smaller line which runs to the hardline will be ok? Any thoughts? Will be buttoning it up tomorrow to fire up and am a little nervous as I've never used them before.

I had to replace one of these connections and used a repair kit from Advance Auto. It had the fitting already in a piece of line and a union. You just cut to fit and push the union into both pieces and you are back in business.

so i used the rubber to see what would happen and no lights and runs great issue im having is weird and wondering if its cause the rubber hose. it will rev up as high as i want and it will gradually gain rpms over 4-5k but when im on the road and hit the gas hard to floor it revs to 3500 and then falls on its face and stays at 3500. could this be rubber lines collapsing under load only or something else? fuel filter? not sure where to start..

I would replace the rubber line with the proper plastic line to avoid any possibility of that being an issue. The fuel filter is cheap and fairly easy to replace so you might as well do that too. Either could be the reason the engine is starving for fuel but likely that fuel filter.
