Default Fuel Cap Issues

I’m sure I’m not the only one that has the “tighten fuel cap” pop up. What’s the best way to fix it?

I would check the seal of the cap and make sure it clicks 3 times when tightening it.

My issue was while pumping gas and I solved it by changing the vent solenoid and the charcoal canister.

I also replaced the whole cap which was quite inexpensive.

I found that it was the fuel pump outlet nipple on top of the tank had a pin hole leak, bad design that just lets dirt settle on this little baby.
