Default Engine Cover

Does anybody know if the 08 engine covers will fit older models? Looking for a cheap way to dress up the engine bay.

I don't think so because I just had a new factory engine installed in my 2006 and it does not screw down all the way. I didnt look into why yet.

I added dark blue silicone hoses and plug wires. I was thinking of painting the cover a dark blue anodized look.

Long time ago I saw an H2 listed on eBay where the owner modified the 2010+ Camaro engine cover to fit on the engine. Seriously complimented the overall look of the engine bay. Thinking of doing that myself. Camaro LS3 covers are plentiful and cheap.

Those huge engine covers always get ripped off every vehicle I've owned. All they do is trap heat and in AZ its too damn hot to begin with let alone with a huge piece of plastic with foam on the bottom. I like the stock cover because it's small but dresses up the intake mani a little.

^^^^ what he said. and it is worse here in the southern states... heat and humidity. ugh (people tend to be run inside from about april/may to about oct/nov)

I prefer my truck to look like a truck... all those covers do to me is make it look like a hybrid or electric car

Phil - the larger sets are a 3 piece set and the center part came in a few variations from GM. One simply has Vortec on the front, another has Vortec 6000, another has Vortec Max in red, an Escalade one with a Cadillac emblem. Might one other variation. The left and right pieces are all the same.

You can find tons of them on eBay.

With that search you can see most of the variations. Depending on the year engine you might need different upper mounts that go on the top of the intake manifold to attached them to. Some of the earlier years had more of a rectangular style while the 2001-2007 ones had the more rounded ones, the later models more of a squarish style. Each uses a different bracket part that mounts on top of the intake manifold to attach them. I'm not sure what if anything might be need to mount the left and right pieces on the three piece sets.
