It will be this summer before I have time to install it all but I'll make a new thread and do a full write up on the swap. I have already bought all the parts I need to do it in the truly proper way using a factory GM electric fans relay block (it will attach directly to your under hood fuse box) and harness. Also have the most powerful set of electric fans made for the full size GM trucks.

You do have to get a custom tune to enable them when doing it this way but the advantages are numerous. Far more accurate temperature control, true dual relay series/parallel for dual speeds, the ECU will not enable the fans when going above a speed you can set in the tune (fans are pointless above about 35 to 40 mph as the wind then provides more air then they can), they will cut on when AC system pressures are above a certain point (instead of just always on when the compressor kicks on).

The fan on the H2 is a clutch fan.

That is not entirely correct and no one has really argued that point. The correct statement would be

The stock fan on a 2003 through 2007 H2 is a clutch fan. 2008 and 2009 H2's come with electric fans.
