Default Cn't get the sunroof open ?

When i got the truck the roof switch had been disconnected and the sunroof itself had been sealed with silicone . Fixed the switch and used silicone remover . The motor can be heard trying to open it but nothing happens . I've banged and rattled the glass , had someone inside holding the switch and pushing up on the glass while i stood on the hood and tried to force it back but there is no movement at all . Any suggestions would be appreciated .

Try pushing down on the rear of the glass... I'm pretty sure mine drops in the rear then slides back. You will probably have to take out the headliner to get it moving though.

That's kinda what i was expecting to hear i managed to check the rain drains were connected by just pulling the trim around the sunroof but i can't see anything that might prevent it opening . I really don't want to have to drop the whole headliner .

It possibly has bad a position sensor that prompted sealing it shut. I test drove one that the sunroof it didnt stop center. Had to go up and down trying to let off in the sweet spot. Maddening when people use insane fixes on vehicles that probably would have been easier and netted more on trade-in if they had just fixed it right.

It was sealed on the assumption that it leaked , common problem the leak i know , Roof lights and door rubber have now been treated to silicone which is why i now want the sunroof working . Just wish i could find the drain exits before unsealing the roof . Do they have the stupid cross pieces in the end like the H3 ? if so i would appreciate a pic so i can drill them out before it rains .

I'm not at all sure where the drain exits are, honestly haven't taken the time to look.

Found the drain exits under the scuttle panel in front of the windscreen pics here https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/h...xits-h2-33827/

The sunroof refuses to open even with the glass removed . I will probably remove the whole headliner tomorrow to get a proper look for blockage but i'm thinking it may be and electrical fault . Seems to me only one rail is attempting to move (it shifts about 1mm) .

While writing this its occurred to me there is likely only 1 motor and so there must be 2 belts or something to take the power to both rails ?????
