I bought a 2004 and got a great deal on it. ($17,500) When shopping around I found the prices of the 2007s and up were just so dang expensive. Owners and dealers were pretty proud of them. Most wanted nearly double than what I paid for my 2004. I figure I will save a ton on an 04 and keep that money in the bank in the event of any large repairs. My 04 with 100k has been a joy to own with no problems. One of favorite vehicles I have ever owned. You will love getting one!!!!! Just my experience.

Depends... 2006 they upgraded certain items i.e. side view mirrors, etc... The 2007 was the last year if that interior version. 2008 has the interior and transmission change.

Here's a link I found with the some of the yearly changes: Hummer H2 model year changes and buying guide.

I'd say the 08-09 are the best years but like Kirkhayes37 said above the prices of those years are usually extremely high. After 08 the H2 gets the 6.2 engine and the 6 speed transmission.

I'd say '08-'09 - better quality interior, bigger more powerful engine, 6 speed transmission, other little things like blutooth. I bought an '06 because the '08/'09s were roughly 50% more $$.

In general, I'd say newer the better. A lot of people don't like the looks or style of the '08/'09 interior as much as the older style, but that's an aesthetic thing not a quality thing.

I had this same decision last year. I would definitely pick the new 08/09. The six speed tranny was quite a bit of a difference to drive if you actually test drove a 2007 vs 2008 for example. The 6.2L is a nice upgraded engine too.

Plus the extra towing capacity with the 08/09 was a deal breaker for me. I tow a large wakeboard boat, and the 2007 and older would be over-capacity regarding towing specs.

I actually loved the newer interior also, especially the seats.

The prices are generally much higher for the last 2 years, the 2009 especially. They can be tricky to find if you are looking for a certain options. I actually got lucky and found the 2008 UltraMarine that I exactly wanted. It was a national search.

I thank all of you for the great replies, i'm having a hard time finding an 08.
07's to 04's seem to be easier to find. I'm giving myself a month to find an 08 before i drop down in model year

I'm a little biased but I really love my 07. I do like the better power train on the newer ones, but I really don't like the interior. The newer interior just doesn't seem right to me. The older style interiors were just more rugged looking and really completed the Hummer look.

The '03 is the best year for the H2 bc it was the one that started the Hummer fad j/k. Actually, you won't go wrong on whatever year you get, it will always put a smile on your face . Good luck on your search!
