Default 2008 Oil pressure issue?

My oil pressure gauge seems to be all over the place.
The 12:00 position is 275, there is a 3/4 between 275 and 550, and a 1/4 position between 0 and 275.
As soon as the engine starts, it reads almost 3/4, then after the engine warms up, about 3-5 min, it is right at the 12:00 position. (Where I think it should be) After that, sometimes when I'm stopped at a red light idling, it reads almost down to the 1/4 position. As soon as the engine revs up, it goes back to the 275 mark.
I'm just wondering if anyone else with a 08 or 09 can tell me what their oil pressure gauge reads?
Is it worth taking in?

I have an 08 also and mine does same exact thing. Hummer Dealer states perfectly normal for 08-09 models. Same goes for battery output. Fluctuates from 12-14.5 volts, again normal for later model Hummers.

I'm having occasional problems with my 2006 HS. Last December, for the first time the Low Oil Pressure warning light and tone sounded. I immediately checked the oil level and it was fine. The engine sounded normal. The warning went away. A few days later, it happened again so I replaced the Oil Pressure Sensor with an OEM brand and that cleared the problem for a few months. No, 5 months later, it still goes off occasionally. Any suggestions?

Hey guys, who I just hammered out this pressure problem. I have a 2005 h2, and mine would vary from 0 to maxed out 80 psi. Here's what I found.
After replacing the switch I had no change. Come to find out, it's read off voltage. NOT actual psi. 0 psi equals 0 volts. @12 volts it's around middle or 40 psi. So at the end of the day, if you have any voltage problems, it will read out in your oil pressure. I had a short in the wires going into the pressure sensor and once fixed, I had normal pressure again. Now with that said, it's completely normal to run between 25-60 psi. When cold, it should run around the middle to upper 3/4. When hot it may run 1/4 to half. Never down to zero. If it's goes to zero or to max, check your power output from your alt. If you have a huge load (lots of aftermarket lights and subs and things of that nature) it may well be a voltage issue, and not an oil pressure issue. I ripped my hair out trying to figure this out and hope I helped someone.

I would have never thought of that being the problem, good find. I will have to look into my alternators performance.
