Hummer H2For those who like a little more gleam to their Hummer, the H2 offers a similar rugged look as the H1, but as a lower cost, and with more added features, making it almost a massive luxury SUV.
Greeting everyone, my name is Jason and I recently was lucky enough to stumble upon a gentleman who had just listed his immaculate 2004 Hummer H2 mere minutes after he had posted it on craigslist for sale, So obviously that's what I'm driving now. I just so happen to have a GM nav radio from a 2008 Chevy Duramax model number #DW468100-6400 (pictures below) and my searches for what type of additional hardware or harness or brackets I may need and this is where I landed first so I'm hoping someone here might be able to share their experiences or knowledge with this, The radio that is currently in the H2 is the double-din six-disc CD changer without navigation or touch screen. If anyone knows what I'm going to need or if I'm not even going to be able to use this or not that would be awesome and I thank you in advance!
I am pretty sure the 2008 will not work in your rig, I myself prefer the stock radios and think it's a great idea to return your H2 to a stock radio but add the Nav. I did it to my 2003. With that being said, I do not use the factory NAV in my 2006, it is so much easier to grab the phone and say Hey Siri I need directions to...
There is no need for Nav radios anymore. That's like using a TomTom, or a bag cell phone.
You install an aftermarket head unit with Apple Play and/or Android Auto and your phone does the Nav. and the map is displayed on the radio, direction played through your speakers, and you can make/receive phone calls through the head unit with your connected phone. Nothing to update except the phone and its map apps that you choose to use.
