2006 h2 transmission issue

Hey y’all I have a 06 h2, recently it starting acting weird in 1st gear. It’ll take off normal but remain in that gear till either 3500-4000 rpm or i let off the throttle. I was looking around and people are saying that it has a m30 or 4L65e. I always thought it had a mt1 or 4l80e? Like most 3/4-1 ton trucks.

So what transmission does it really have? I’m not at the truck currently so I can’t look at the pro codes or at the trans at the moment.

When is the last time you did an oil change?

First as other have suggested fluid issues, second if you have access to someone with a Tech 2 tool you can reset the TAP (transmission adaptive values) using tech 2. This will erase all the current learned values in all cells. As a result, the PCM will need to relearn the TAP values during the next couple of driving cycles

The TAP values are the pressure values the transmission uses for shifting and general operation. Now this will not fix a failing 4l65e but if the TAP values are screwed up the trans won't shift correctly. If you don't have access to a tech 2 you can reset some of the base values by removing the battery cable and leaving it disconnected for about 60 minutes.
