2000 6.0 to 2006 4l65e. Can’t mate up
 

So my H2 engine was having problems. I found a 2000 6.0 with low miles. Did my research found I needed a 6.0 with the 8th digit U. Got the engine In and started up no issues using the original transmission (my h2 is a 2005). BUT. IT wouldn’t go into any gear. The common census was when putting the engine in we messed up the oil pump and it had high mileage. So went and bought a newer tranny with lower miles. Brought it home but they won’t mate up. After several attempts we found this


Different from their Chevy predecessors, most of the Gen III engines (see chart, below) had a shorter crank flange, offset of about 4/10" closer to the block. This is not an issue when working with original-configuration GM powertrains, but must be addressed when mixing different iterations of GM transmissions


so with that being said is there anyway to get an engine from a 2000 6.0 to mate up with a 2006 4l65e?

You answered your own question. Don't mixed different generations of powertrains.

If Advance Adapters doesn't make an adapter, do not know where you could find one. Go to their website, create a login account, and search by vehicle profile.

They have different input shafts. You need a torque converter with a 300 mm shaft, the 60e has a 298mm.

have you compared both bell housings? some older model transmissions are one piece also i believe the bell housing on the H2 is a bit deeper to take a deeper torque converter.

Maybe this will help you found out exactly what you are working with and what you need to fix it. I think it’s just a spacer.
