04 vs 06
As most of you know, I'm having battery or charging problems with my rig. Well it barely started Saturday morning, so I took it to the dealer. Cochran in Pittsburgh, and they gave me an 04 H2 to use. One drivability complaint that I have with mine, is that you have to make constant steering corrections, especially at highway speed and it does become quite tiresome. I noticed with the 04 H2, that this didn't happen. It went and stayed where I pointed it. Also the steering felt much tighter. Is this normal for an 06 to feel so much looser?

RE: 04 vs 06
although unlikely on an '06, unless there are a lot of miles and it's been used heavily offroad, it could be your sector shaft/pitman arm. when i had mine in for an alignment last week, you could move the tire back and forth about an inch with no problem, and watch the pitman arm slop along the sector shaft. i've got 61K on it, and the dealer wound up replacing the whole steering box and pitman arm. all the slop is gone from the steering wheel now, and it's much tighter (tighter and less sloppy is ALWAYS a GOOD thing ! ! ! !). hopefully your dealer's techs will look at the most common culprit and get you back on the road, regardless of what the problem is.
