Default where to buy an H1? Im a serious buyer..but need some help

Im looking to buy an H1 for around $20,000 year doesnt matter as long as it is above 95'. I have looked on ebay but I havn't seen any I like and I have heard horror stories of people getting lemons/scams. I live in L.A. Are there dealers that sell cheap like this or am I most likely going to have to take a risk on ebay? Preferably I am looking for a white soft top..

Thanks any help will be appreciated. Ive heard that 98's is a good year, but I dont think I can get one at that price. I think I will have to settle for a 95' I have seen some 95's go on ebay for around $20k...but I'm worried about that site.

A 20k budet for an H1?Very unlikely to find one at that price, even on Ebay. I have seen some go for high 20's to low 30's, but you will be taking a chance on those vehicles. If you are handy, maybe pick one up as a fixer...my $0.02. Good Luck, let us know how you do.

If you find a good '95 for 20k, buy it - that would be an absolute steal. Your numbers sound more than 10k lower than reality to me.
Good luck!

how do you know if it is a good hummer or not? I have seen some for 25, but am not sure if they are in good shape. is it safe to rely just on carfax? I did find one for 18k, but said it was a salvage title from parts of a tree falling on the roof. but it was repaired.

If the answer to that question "how do I know it is a good one" was easy enough to answer via a forum, then the good ones would all be gone, and nobody would buy the "bad ones!"

Your best bet is to find someone you trust who knows Hummers well to look at a truck before you buy it -- they will be able to identify potential problem areas effectively, signs of abuse, symptoms of larger problems, etc.
It is tough to coach someone on what to look for if they are not familiar with the trucks, there are so many unique things to look at.

Good luck, and if you have specific questions about a truck you are looking at, feel free to drop me an email and I will answer as time allows.

Hahahah exactly. Another dreamer. No offense but you can't afford an H1.

Hope this helps.

In all seriousness, I wouldn't buy an H1 without doing an inspection at the dealer before hand. I'm at my 3rd H1 and still learn **** every day. These beasts are complex.
