My engine blew in my 1995 H1. I am trying to find a crate motor or used motor that will fit in my h1. The dealership says thier crate motors would work, but need modifications. Does anyone know a good place to find a motor or know any motor that would work.

The engine is essentially the same as the ones they put in all of the Chevy pickups in that era - any used 6.5 or even 6.2 will work, you just need to swap a lot of the 'accessory' stuff from your old motor to your new one. If you have a turbo, you'll need to put that whole setup on the new engine, as the setup is completely different from the other turbo 6.5 setups... either way, the exhaust manifolds will have to be swapped, alot of the belt driven stuff, etc. Just don't turn your core in until you have the 'new' engine in and running. This is all assuming you have a diesel, of course.
