H1 Hood Design Feature
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the 2 metal loops that go through the hood of the H1 are for? i have looked at pictures and it looks as if it is fixed to the engine block but I am not sure, thanks for any replies

also, on the rear bumper of all of the H1s (civilian) the rear bumper has those big loops as well. if your hummer came with a winch, the winch has two big loops as well. They were originally deisgned for airlifting the trucks via UH-60 Blackhawks but now they give the truck, especially on the hood, more character and the front and rear loops make for nice tow strap loops for pulling other vehicles out.

I know a guy near me who removed his by just cutting the loops off and his truck looks kind of wimpy haha. Not only are they great airlift attachment points, they make for good shovel/ax/jack attachment points or for other stuff. i put tie downs to my hood loops and my rear bumper loops to hold my canoe on when we head up into the mountains.
