Default H3 2006 cylinder head issue

I am new to this forum, a female with an H3 2006 with the vehicle in the shop as we speak. I am told a new cylinder head will solve all the problems as my vehicle is one of those with the pre vin listed in the site with possible problems. My vehicle has a little over 9500 miles, and I am not happy about this. I called the GM rep about an extended warranty as others have done on this website and I was told I will have no problems once it is fixed and they will not issue one. I am very saddened by GM and their response. I was given a case number, called my service manager, who guarantees no more problems. Should I be worried? I know nothing about cars but feel by reading these forums I do have something to worry about. Any advice is appreciated. And I have to admit my dealershiphas a revolving door when it comes to workers and managers. So today being told don't worry does not make me feel better. Once this cylinder head is replaced is that a done deal and I am ok?
Thanks to anyone out there with more knowledge than I.

Hey i had the same problem. I had extended warranty on my hummer cuz the original one expired. My extended warranty people are bunch of AAAA Hol....s. They were like no we need to see a part which is failed to pay for the warranty. My dealer told them it is not possible to see the worn out head with naked eye. You can only run leak test and it will show you the failure. But those idiots insisted for a failure part. The car was in the shop for 2 weeks but my service manager is the most amazing lady i have ever met. She replaced the whole cylinder head and all the required parts and i only had to pay $100. She said shell make GM pay the rest. I am going to sue the damn warranty company.

A couple of weeks ago we started to get the rough idle but no check engine light. Well a few days ago we got the dreaded light along with the misfire code when Onstar ran a diagnostic. Our 2006 H3 is at the dealer as we speak with only 75K miles and cylinder head problems. We were told it is going to cost us first $575 dollars just for them to open it up and find out exactly what needs to be done and then most likely have to replace the head which will cost an additional $2600. I am so mad right now I can't stand it. You would think after paying almost 17k for a car you wouldn't run into these kinds of problems. I did call and argue with the Hummer Assistance Center this morning and they sent my case to be reviews by a specialist that is suppose to let me know within 24hrs what they can do for me. All I have to say is they better do something, there have been to many people going through the same thing to just keep ignoring the problem. Here is the info if anyone else would like to flood customer service with complaints so this problem gets dealt with!!!

About 2 months ago my cousins 06 H3 with 25k on it needed the head replaced. I told him about all the people on the forums with head trouble. He complained and his dealer put him in contact with Hummer Warranty Customer Assistance. He ended up paying $1500 and Hummer covered the rest. Good luck!
