Hi -

I am looking at buying an older hummer to fix up as a project.
Looking for advice on the max amount you would pay for the following (USD)

2003 Hummer H2
188857 Miles (lots I know!)
Condition: average (it is 13 years old!)

-Air Conditioning
-CD Player
-Cruise control
-Leather Interior
-Power Locks
-Power Windows
-Sunroof
-Tilt

Different areas of the country have different prices. I've seen 2003s for around 10k with less miles than that. Look for rust if you are in snow areas.

Here is a quick list from craigslist in Houston to compare. ~11k and up

Agreed with what they said above.

Depends on overall condition and area of country.

If you're going to fix the hummer up, then I suggest you get something that gives you a good price whether you're looking at financing it or whatever. Since you're going to overhaul the whole lot, you don't have to pay too much on the bits that you're going to chuck away anyway! Depends on what you're going to keep!

Also keep in mind the H2 specific interior pieces are hard to come by if you can track them down at all. Items such as door panels, dash pieces, and other various trim can be next to impossible to find. I would go through the interior with a fine toothed comb and check to make sure nothing is cracked or broken. Wiggle everything to see if the mounts and/or tabs are broken.

These vehicles are becoming pretty aged and may be more trouble than some are willing to dive in to.

I think this thread should be close. It's one year old buddies.

Also, the thread starter seems inactive.

H2's are getting to be pretty cheap. Makes you wonder if they will start going back up in value. Every few months I think about getting another one.
