Default off road fog lights??

i just bought a used 03 hummer h2 the problem im having is how in the heck do you turn on the offroad fog lamps ( the ones in the bumper)
so far they only come on when i unlock the doors with keyless entry remote. the owners manual says there a switch on the over head console, but only buttons up there are 3 garage door switches and the two that turn on the map lights. any help would be apreciated and thanks in advance!

Default Same problem

Mine work just like yours, are they maybe the Day light Runnning lights.

I do not have any day light lights so that is why I thought those were them.

But they do come on like yours so I know they work.

The switch in the owners manual is for the Off road lights (optional) mounted on the Brush guard if you have them. (like on the advture series)

Default I found the answer

The lights in the front bumber are the day light running lights and only come on when it is daylight, (and nothing covering the sensor) and the car is in gear.

I started my H2, put it in gear (all doors closed) and had my wife outside to check them, they come on when out of park, and go off in park.

Yes those are DRLs, not fog or driving lights but they can be converted to work like fog/driving lights...

Not my info....stole from another site. I used this information and did the conversion so my DRL (those foglight-like lights in the bumper) stay on with reg headlights and high beams. Not a ton of additional light, but I like the look and it cost me about $10 at the local Radio Shack including $8 for a soldering iron kit.

Took an honest 15 minutes. Follow directions exactly for a simple/safe conversion.

Cheers!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Instructions:
A: Get a piece of wire about 4 inches long.
B: get a diode from Radio Shack IN4003-micromini 200V-1A
C: Cut the wire in half and solder the diode in the middle.
(Be sure to place the little strip (cathode) on the diode towards the parking lamp relay)
D: Pull the parking light replay circuit breaker out, and put one end of the wire in a slot, and put the breaker back in.
E: Pull the drivers lights relay out and place the other end of the wire in one of those slots, and replace the relay.
