And the best motor oil is............

I've used Quaker State for decades; my '89 Toyota 4x4 van, used as a daily driver and also alot of off-roading went 385,000 miles; tranny finally went, but the engine was still going strong and not burning oil. I have a '95 Tercel that currently has 335,000 on it, and a '06 4x4 Tahoe with 190,000.

So I used to use Royal Purple in my hot cars then switched to Castrol synthetic for my Vette and Caddie. I'm fin witht that but if there is a synthetic oil just as good for less money I'm certainly listening and would appreciate any advice. Since we're on the topic I of course know of recommended weight grades but I'm in SW Florida where daytime temps 9 months of the year are from the mid 80's to mid 90's, so I don't mind "violating" recommended oil grade specs -- what's the best grade for my particular situation? Tks!

Sure, and you all have convinced me to try MOBIL ! in all my cars, but for near constant 85-95 degrees in SW Florida would I be better 5w40 , which has been recommended in a couple of articles for the temps here. Mild change but if you're thinking long term mileage on an H2 every little thing matters. Having said that not sure there are any real oil experts here but it doesn't hurt to ask..
