OK You've convinced me. You should know by now I'm a big skeptic of things unless I see it or do it for myself ;-) SO, IF Amsoil is so great, why aren't you or anybody else using it? NO I'm not trying to be a smartass, I'm just curious. I have honestly never heard of the stuff until you guys started talking about it in this thread. And on that note, I see my Valvoline SynPower is up there with Amsoil and Castrol, so now I know I wasn't dreaming when I was using that stuff and noticed a difference. Here is a blurb from Amsoil's store: SERVICE LIFE AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-30 Motor Oil is recommended for extended drain intervals in unmodified(1), mechanically sound(2) gasoline fueled vehicles as follows: • Normal Service(3) – Up to 25,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. • Severe Service(4) – Up to 15,000 miles or one year, whichever comes first. 25,000 miles or 1 year? Are they seriously saying that it's possible one oil change can last up to 25000 miles?
