My so called 11 month old New 06 SUT front tire rubs! I have been in the shop now 2x in the past 3 weeks and I will be back again. And all I get is that is it normal. It is a huge Safety ISSUE!!! I am not happy that I traded in my OLD truck that could do what the HUMMER can; and I have this Problem.  When the tire rubs off paint and now is making a dent in the front Stabalizer Bar; they don't think this is a issue. I think they need to rethink the front end and fix this problem. I have heard that it goes for all H2's from 2003 to 2008! That is Crap!
So I am asking everyone to go check behind the Right and Left front tire to see if the front Stabalizer bar(Sway Bar) has a wear mark? I have included 2 pics to reference by!
Please let me know!!!!

Hey,

Mine does the same thing. I have an 05 SUT that I bought new. It has done this since day 1! I am to the point where I cant worry about it but I do notice it everytime I walk around the truck. Yours is a little too clean though!

it is common, i've seen it on brand new trucks that are completely stock.  and even though i've got oversized tires i still don't have a "dent" in the sway bar, not sure how a piece of rubber could create a dent in it, but i'll take your word for it.  i personally don't see it as a safety issue, but good luck getting GM to do something about it.  you could get new rims with a bigger offset to push the tire out more, but i don't know of any other solution.  you also have to consider that your sway bar will move side to side slightly as well, so the rub may not be constant.

i've got rub marks on my frame rails behind the tire too, as well as on the inner fender well, but after 40k miles on these tires, still going fine.

The only reason it looks so clean is because the dealer used a screwdriver to pry it over then spray painted it black over the gouge.

if you have a gouge in the sway bar, that's not from the tire.  rubber can't gouge solid steel.

I agree if it's an actual gouge then it's not the tire. It may just seem to be gouged do to the missing powder coating which is pretty thick in that spot.  I've had both of mine brand new since 05 and both H2's rubbed since day one. I still offroad my rigs to this very day and I haven't had a problem yet. Haven't even needed an alignment yet (and I've hit some rocks at high speed). I was never concerned, do to the fact that my last truck did the samething an I expected it. I know what your thinking, for the amount of money nothing should rub, but when it comes down to it, it's just a chevy with a nicer body.

Just my $0.02

Mine rubbed....03 not a SUT, but it is rare that I feel the need to turn my wheel to full lock... even when on a trail....
