I'm THIS close to putting down my money for my H3, but I stumbled across a couple of threads where several of ya'll ended up paying MUCH less than what my dealer is offering me.

The price the dealer's offering is $39000, and with the tax and everything it's up to about $41000. Here's what I'd be getting for it - Luxury package, Auto transmission, Added 33" wheels (but NOT the adventure package), Chrome Appearance pkg, Chrome tube steps, Chrome Wheels (dunno if they will have to get rid of these to put the bigger tires on), Chrome Brush Guard, Sunroof, XM Radio with the 6 CD changer and Chromed Crossbows.

What do u guys think? Good deal or sucky deal?

I'd say definitely too much...try going to carsdirect.com and pricing it out. I bought my Nissan Murano through them and it was the best and easiest car buying experience I've had. Probably woulda bought my H3 that way too except I got mine used with 7,500 miles on it. I paid $29,700 plus tax and lisc., see my sig below for how mine is equipped...pretty much everything yours will have except the 33" wheels. and brush guard.

Wow, and I was actually under the impression that the dealer was giving me a decent deal. Looks like I was taken for a ride (literally, in an over-priced hummer). Jaycen, how exactly does carsdirect.com work? And can I trust 'em? What about warranty issues, etc..?

The only dealers in my area are Sewell, Classic Hummer and Frank Kent. Anyone had experiences with any of these dealers before?

Thanks again for the input guys!!

well when I bought my murano I just went in and put in the car and options I wanted it. It shows you a Carsdirect guaranteed price then after you fill out your info they will contact you and find the car for you. They told me what the final price would be, faxed me some papers to sign and told me what dealer to pick the car up from. I went to the dealer, paperwork was all filled out and ready for me to sign and I drove off in my new car. As far as warranty you still get the GM warranty so you can take it to any Hummer dealer. Carsdirect will try to sell you an extended warranty but be aware this is a third party warranty not the GM warranty. So if you want the extended GM warranty I'd wait till you get to the dealer and tell them to add it. Also I don't see an option on there for the 33" wheels by themself or a chrome brush guard, only see the black one so you may have to add these at the dealer as well or tell the carsdirect rep who calls you that you want these options.

One other thing is that carsdirect doesn't offer a guaranteed price for all cars in all areas, depending on popularity, availability, etc...in those cases it gives you a target price which is a good target to aim for when negotiating with a dealer. I just went and checked and they have a guaranteed price in my area, but when I put in your zip code it only gave a target price, but this can still be useful. Or you can keep checking back to see if they change to a guaranteed price in your area. When I was first pricing out the H3 in my area the first time I checked they had a guaranteed price then a few weeks later it was a target price, and then again a few weeks later it changed back to a guaranteed price. Like I said it probably all depends on popularity, availability and what arrangements they have set up with dealers in your area. Hope this was all a little bit helpful and good luck.

I bought mine form Sewell in Plano, and couldn't have been happier with the price I paid. Sticker was 36,900 and I ended up paying 31,500. Bryan Barton was my salesman.

I bought a 5-speed with the luxury and adventure pkg with sunroof, chrome assist steps, and appearance pkg. The sticker price $35,950. I got the GM discount which saved me about $3500 and $1000 off because I also own a Jeep. My total was $31, 600 not including tax and tags.

I think there is a promotion going on this , at least in my area, where everyone gets GM pricing.

Another good way to buy is through Costco. You can buy just about any car through Costco's website. I bought my H3 through there. You pay $500 over invoice, so my 5-speed was just over $27,000. Go to costco.com, click on "Services" (In blue text near the top of the page next to "Sales") and then click on "Auto Buying" at the top of the list on that page. Costco has prearranged pricing through a dealer near you for just about every car you can think of, with any option package that's available. The site then contacts the dealer for you, and tells you who the dealer is in your area. The dealer won't likely tell you the price they've prearranged with Costco until you go into the dealership (because they don't want you taking that price and getting it matched at another dealer). However, for your information, the prenegotiated price is usually about $500 over invoice.

You can also get really good financing through the Costco website prearranged prices online, too. You enter in the maximum amount you expect to spend on the vehicle, and they approve you really quick. (We got ours in, like, 15 minutes.) Then we had a "blank check" overnighted to us from the financing company. (The "blank check" is a check you write to the dealer for the exact amount you've purchased the vehicle for, up to the maximum amount you requested financing for.)

Of course, once I got down to the dealer and saw that I was paying a lot less than I thought I would, naturally I couldn't SAVE that money. :-) I HAD to get huge tires and killer wheels.

I'll never buy a car straight from a dealer ever again. When I bought my Honda Odyssey this way, the whole thing took 15 minutes—from showing up at the dealer, test-driving the van, writing out the financing check, and getting the hell out of Dodge (well... Honda).

I say your getting ripped off.
Go to HUMMER.COM and build one and see what the price is.

Paid 36 for mine. Minus the tax. Automatic, lux, Navigation, chrome package, Xm radio, Side airbags, homelink, chrome brush guards, chrome steps, sunroof, Roof rails chrome, trailor hitch, trailor adaptor things, I think thats all it came with. I wish i found it used. The only thing i dont have is the bigger tires. If they are charging you a lot for them just buy them on ebay. Cause i've seen them on there for as low as 250 with the rims. They are on there all the time. Personally if your not getting the offroad package i dont think you should bother with those tires. They are only a half inch bigger on each side. Your just going to end up wanting the tires and rims people have in this forum anyway. Actually if i could buy it again i wouldnt get any of the chrome on it either. Its all cheaper if you buy it yourself.

Oh and I had the supplier disscount. Its not as much as the other discounts i think. But you should still be at least getting more accessories. I think mine was 39 without the disscount. You should be getting navigation or something is like 2000.

We're looking at an H3 right now. Not sure if we're getting a great deal or not. It's a 06 w/ adventure package, and auto, w/ cloth seats. Sunroof, XM, Nav radio, side air bags, trailer package, and the all season front floor mats. The H3 is at another dealer across the state. So, we neg a price, and then they tell us the other dealership installed an alarm, and that it can't be removed. So, they say they can only come down to 600 for the alarm. Pretty pricey alarm. Anyway, all total it's at 35,450. They have the zero percent finance right now, and we wanted to take advantage of it. But, I just don't feel we're getting a great deal for an end of the year vehicle, that they should be pushing out of the way for the 07's. We have not signed anything, and the H3 isn't going to be hauled here until monday. The vibe I get from them is that they're not going to come down from that number. I also feel that one reason is that I'm paying for the cost of getting this vehicle from the other dealer to ours, by them keeping the price up to offset the shipment.

I know we have a few very nice options, but it's certainly not swimming in them. What do you guys think? Is it a bit high for the configuration? That price does not even include cross bows, a fuel door, nerf bars or rocker protection, or steps of any kind. Just the base vehicle, w/ adv/ pkg, and the options listed, plus a (probable) after market alarm.

That's more than the final price I paid for mine (minus tag/title/tax) and mine had a $10k lift/accessory package added to an adventure model.

I think thats right go buy it. Nav radio is expensive but i think its the best toy i have. They dont care about the 07's cause they'll be selling all the 06's anyway. People are buying these h3s like crazy. I was in a bestbuy parkinglot yesturday with 5 hummer h3's makes me not feel special anymore. Makes me want bigger tires or somthing so im different. They dont really come down in price from sticker much with these trucks. Its hummers big seller now. They were in the hole for a while. I'd take advantage of the 0% financing. That is saving you prosibly a couple grand on its own. When i was buying my truck i went to 3 dealers. None of them wanted to move in price. And one of them refused to give me my suplier disscount guess they make more money selling the truck to someone else. They'll try to screw you with acessories. Like my brush guards they charged me 600 bucks for chrome but my trucks sticker said it had black ones on it and that was already in the price. Noticed this after i bought it. assholes took me for 600.
