well,i got this idea in my head to make a better intake, well, after thinking about it and looking at it,the only part that needed to come out is the resonator box, come to find out, that is what was making that humming sound i was hearing,so i took som e3 1/2 inch stainless steel tubing and welded a 3 inch pipe for the pvc to escape and walla.the ol lday even said she felt a huge difference on the road,so i drove it,and i bet it is somewhere about a 10 horsepower increase,it is quite nice, and really cheap to make,i boughta 4 ft stick and only needed 7 1/2 inches,so i have plenty left for someone else, and you dont need any extra clamps,or hoses, all factory stuff, what ya guys think

I've heard that those make a lot of noise. Is that the case with yours?  What would the benefit be to removing the box on top of the engine?

this actually made it quiter, the loud ones you hear of are the ones that the actual air box is removed, this just took the resonator out which basically restrictsa it from what i can figure, but it is not louder then it was,and it no longer makes that faint humming sound that i was having a problem with.

Did you change the air filter too? If so which one did you go with?

i do have the k&n air filter for the stock application, but i did test this with both, dont get me wrong, you can tell a difference when you just put a k&n on a stock setup, but you can really tell a difference when this tube is installed w/ that k&n
