Hey hilljob... I got mine today and...I had less then 1/4 tank of gas, so I installed the tube (only 10 minutes), and got gas. Current MPG was 14.2 (lots of in-town and trailer towing). I did feel a power difference, a bit more ooomph in the lower RPMs, and it appears to hit the "sweet spot" where you feel that surge at a bit under 4k RPM, where it was just above 4K RPM before -- all really subjective, I know. Thanks!

quote:
ORIGINAL: 2zRescue I know adding a K&H air intake will not affect the warentee but will it matter if it home made or not? Or should I slap the Rez Box back of if I need to bring it in? Absolutely, you better not take it in to the dealer with a custom made what have you... I thought about that after I cut down an 06 K&N intake tube (the big plastic one) and made it fit my 07 without the resonator box. I have a K&N barrel filter in the stock breather box and that in itself wouldn't effect any warranty. I believe the sticking issues with warranties are modifying something yourself. I know it's stupid in this case, mine, hilljobs and others are no frikkin different than any add on kit like K&N, Volant, Trueflow, etc.. HOWEVER, if the dealer or factory wanted to be a prick about it they could probably win their case if it ever went down that far. I've kept my accordian tube and resonator box just in case. I also kept my stock exhaust in one piece, just felt like it was the smart thing to do. I'm not at all worried about the Magnaflow dual exhaust being an issue. I just wanted to keep the stock uncut, just in case I ever had the opportunity to sell either the stock exhaust or put it back on and sell the Magnaflow, I figured I wouldn't make much but whatever I got would be better than nothing and storage doesn't cost me a dime.
