vilim12 -> hummer h2 front end (10/27/2007 10:35:24 AM)

it seems like the front end is lower than the rest of the car is there any way to lift the front end to match the rear without having to go all out

It is lower.... and the best you can do is spend the $200 on a leveling kit....

vilim12 -> RE: hummer h2 front end (10/27/2007 11:24:26 AM)

yea thanks for the idea but how hard do you think it would be to install this kit?

I can't speak for your mechanical experience... so here are the instructions for one of the kits....  judge for yourself.

yea it doesnt seem like something id wanna do myself just to be safe

I understand.... you can spend as much on a good jack and jackstands as what you might pay someone to install it for you...

I think shorty has one of these kits....

man i got to say too im loving your pics, ive only taken my wifes out one time shes still got original rims and tires so her are more offroad terrain than mine are now, nothing big just pulling my son`s 4 wheeler out of the mud in some flooded construction site

The sights and sounds forum has more pics...  A few of us went to WV this year.... a couple of us went to a state park near my house... plus there are a lot of h3 wheeling pics.... dig a little... it's worth it.

I installed a TRUXXX lift kit on mine and I was able to raise it about 2.5 inches, which is alittle high in the front now, but it will settle a little bit. I have air ride on the rear. The install is not bad, it takes about 2 hrs to install and then drive it for a day or so and have the front end alignment and your ready to go. The hardest part is the the shocks, the kit comes with 2 shock mount extensions which are a bitch to put on because their is no room to push the shock out of the way while you install the bolts . Also had to rent a ball joint remover to compress tthe torsion bars to change out the new torsion key ways that comes in the kit.
Mine is a 03 H2 by the way.. good luck.

thanks but when i come around to doing it i think ill just have someone do it for me, save me the hassle

shortbus -> RE: hummer h2 front end (10/28/2007 7:25:50 PM)

i'm still using the stock keys, and i've been able to get mine level and have enough room for 37" tires.  standard spring rear, no air bags.  i think the truxx keys are a waste of money, stock works fine, but it's your wallet.  my wife could adjust the stock setup, so anyone could do it.  just give it a day or two and get an alignment.

vilim12 -> RE: hummer h2 front end (10/28/2007 9:52:22 PM)

howd u do it using the stock keys, see my black h2 doesnt have this problem maybe its something they did when they put the rims on but my wifes is bugging the piss out of me, same year h2`s

shortbus -> RE: hummer h2 front end (10/29/2007 1:38:18 PM)

do you know what the torsion bars are?  they're the round rods that connect into a hex "socket" on your lower control arm.  crawl underneath and you'll see where the bars end in a cross member running from side to side under the truck.  where they hit the crossmember there are 2 bolts in the center of the crossmember (one for each torsion bar).  turn those clockwise to raise, counterclockwise to lower, the front end.  i would recommend NOT cranking them all the way, and both will most likely not need the same amount of adjustment.  before you do anything, measure at a spot above your tire to the fender, then measure again after adjusting.  make sure you know where they are before you start so you know how much they've moved.  another measurement would be from the ground to a spot on the fender, just make sure you take all your measurements at the same spot on the truck.  i know there's a post in the forum that has a picture of the adjustment bolts, but i'm too lazy to look for it and i already know how to do it  [:D]

here's a pic i posted a while back.  your truck may be a bit cleaner than this, but it shows the Tbar and adjustment keys.
