Wheel Facts:
Bolt Pattern - 6x5.5
Offset - 38mm

Stock Tire facts:
GOODYEAR wrangler rt/s 265/75R16 or Bridgestone Dueler AT 285/75R16.

As I have been looking for wheels I have found out that the H3 is hard to fit. I know you can go with a little lower offset, but I don't want the tire to stick out.

I thought I would start a post to see what Wheels and Tires you have (or want) on your H3.

Please rate and or review the tires you have used, and would recomend both off and on road.

If you know of wheels that will fit please list the brand, model and spec's (and $), a pic or link would be cool too.

so moany variables here...what are you looking for?  A pavement pounder, off-road, or both? What size rim? Anything over 17 is useless for wheeling so keep that in mind. As far as rim fitment, it's not too hard to find one that fits...anything with the bolt pattern in a 17" with a large bore will fit with zero problems. I have +12 offset and my rims stick out about 2 inches...looks better, corners better and feels much more stable than the stock width...4 inches more of track width does alot of good.

BTW...I'm moving this to the tire/wheel forum

SRY I forgot about the wheel and tire forum.

This is what I've found for wheels. Although I think I want to keep the stock tires untill they wear out as they are prity decent.

I know the wheels listed below are for larger wheels but the bolt pattern and offset doesn't change. My own personal prefrence is black but others might like the chrome.

Check out http://www.americanracing.com/carfigurator.asp. You can see what different wheels will look like on you H3, you can even change the color.

Also make sure wheel hub bore is either 100mm or 108mm if you are possibly concerned with excessive vibrations at higher speeds. I always get my wheels precision balanced using a Hunter GSP9700 (best damn balancer on the market today if you can find one and they know how to use it.) I hate to waste money on a good balance and then ignore how the wheel fits on the vehicle...

I have measured the hub diameter (on my '08 H3 Alpha) using a high-precision recently-calibrated digital caliper; took measurements at each corner 3 times. Measurements ranged from 99.92mm to 99.99mm. Don't let anyone tell you that the hub is bigger than 100mm.

A wheel with 100mm bore will fit directly onto stock hub; 108mm will fit onto hub if you purchase 108-100 hubcentric rings that are available in either polycarb or aluminum. These rings are available from one well-known web-based tire/wheel distributor (do a search.) Each material has its pros and cons.

I wish I could have found hubcentric rings that were 106.1-100mm, since it would have opened up more choices in wheels.

Good luck with your search.
