I have already had my rims replaced once and am now having the delaminization start again.  Anyone have the same problem?  I'm getting ready to call the dealer again tomorrow and would appreciate any advice..

Hey ccmartin, whaaazzz up?   Good question, but please specify which wheels you have and is it a 2006 or 07?   Welcome.

I was following a gal with an 06 yesterday, and I can tell you that her H3 base spare wheel (must not have been the spare all the time) had definitely seen better days, it was looking pretty tore up from good old MI roads and salt.

Hi,

Thanks for answering..... I have an 06 with the standard rims (cast aluminum I believe). I have already had them replaced,  back in February and it's happening again.  They are saying it's due to salt exposure (I live on the beach in FL) but I just can't believe they are that poor quality.  There are alot of other high end cars around here including other Hummers and no one seems to be having this same problem.   The dealer says they are going to take them off and refinish them this time.   What do you think?

Thanks

Americian Racing Wheels have a wheel caled the "Fuel" and it's Teflon coated. That might hold up better with the road salt.

The aluminium begins to corrode, from inside behind the paint or finish, then the paint or finish starts to come off, almost in flakes, like it is delaminating, peeling off.  It is not a pretty thing.
